Badshot Lea Swept Aside

Uxbridge comfortably saw off Badshot Lea on Saturday afternoon, with a fine performance and a third clean sheet in a row.

The Reds had plenty of possession early on pushing forward dangerously at every opportunity, Josh Addae saw his shot go narrowly wide on 11 mins after a great run to the edge of the box. The opening goal was not far off though, when on 24 minutes the lively Addae fed Ada Okorogheye who held off the defender and smashed the ball home high to the keepers left. It could have been two on the half hour, but a glancing header hit the post from a corner, and the rebound was destined to be tucked home by Okorogheye only to have the shot superbly saved by visiting keeper Harry Cawdron.

HT 1-0

The second half was only 4 minutes old when Uxbridge did double their lead, the impressive Okorogheye continuing where left off before the break, as he worked his way into the box and finished well into the far corner from a tight angle. Uxbridge then created plenty of chances with Wilson Chingoka going close on 2 occasions. The inevitable third goal did arrive on 70 minutes though when debutant CJ Fearn sent over an inch perfect cross for George Moore to expertly guide his header into the net. George Legg was called into action 5 minutes later when he tipped over a good effort from Lamin Ceesay. The game was deep into stoppage time when Andrio Brandao scored the goal of the match, when he found space fully 30 yards out to smash the ball over the Badshot Lea keeper and into the net.

All in all a fine performance to take into the next game when Hanworth Villa visit on Tuesday.
