Although, not quite do or die, this Saturday's visit to the Racecourse Ground, may have a big say in both teams' play-off aspirations. As well as the important three points on offer, the massive confidence boost the winners would take into the final weeks of the season, could be the difference between what might have been, and possible promotion. We come into the game on the back of three straight league wins, whilst The Yellas form has been patchy. Their last three games producing a win, defeat and a draw. The current form table shows there is little to choose between the sides. The Reds in 8th and The Yellas in 9th, both on ten points from the last six games.
Last time out
Uxbridge cruised past Metropolitan Police, 4-0 at home last Saturday. Man of the match, Ada Okorogheye with two goals. Andrio Brandao and Josh Addae completing the scoring. Ascot United returned from Portsmouth with a hard-earned point from a 1-1 draw at Moneyfields. Former Red Chad Goulter seeing red for the The Yellas in the 37th minute.
Previously
This will be just the fourth meeting between the Reds and The Yellas. Last season both games ended in draws. 2-2 at the Racecourse Ground and 1-1 at Honeycroft. Back in October we came out on top, winning 3-0 with goals from Wilson Chingoka, James Taylor and Dontaye Whittaker. George Legg saved Taylor Morgan's penalty in the first half, with the score at 0-0.
The ones to watch
Three former Reds are in the current Ascot squad. The aforementioned Chad Goulter, Khalid Simmo and Kickie Dzimba. Anas Igozouln is their top marksmen, finding the net twelve times in twenty-eight league appearances. Goalkeeper Mark Scott has taken his place between the sticks in all thirty of The Yellas league games.
