Last season, Farnham Town won the Combined Counties Premier Division South by the small margin of thirty-nine points. Winning thirty-five and drawing three of their thirty-eight games. This season has seen them once again lead from the front. They have occupied top spot since hitting the summit on the 21 September, winning their opening eight games. However, they have been beaten twice this season – 1-4 away at Leatherhead and 0–1 at home to Hanworth Villa. This will be only their third home league game of 2025, as the wet weather has taken its toll on The Memorial Ground pitch. Thankfully, the dry weather in recent days means Saturday’s fixture should be fine. Former Spelthorne Sports and Bedfont Sports Manager, Paul Johnson, is the man who has guided The Town to its current position, taking over the reins in November 2022.
Last time out
Last Saturday we came from a goal down to see off a spirited South Park (Reigate) side 2-1 at Honeycroft. A first goal for the club from Harry Rush drew us level, before Josh Addae
scored, what turned out to be the winner, from the penalty spot. Farnham Town were in
action on Tuesday night away at Hanworth Villa. A “worldie” from Sam Merson - which went viral - put The Villains in front before Sam De St Croix equalised just before halftime. No further goals meant that The Town have gone two games without a win for only the second time this season. Can we make it three?
Previously
Our only previous meeting is one we would like to forget. Adam Liddle had a field day,
scoring four of his side’s goals in an emphatic 5-0 victory at Honeycroft in early November.
The ones to watch!
Last week we were up against the leagues lowest scorers in South Park (Reigate). This
week it’s the other end of the scale as Farnham Town have hit the net eighty-four times in their thirty games. Leading the way are Owen Dean (21 in 30), Adam Liddle (11 in 26) and Jordan Gallagher has scored twenty-two goals in thirty league games. (16 in 18 for Raynes Park Vale). Former Red Joe Jackson has been at The Town for the past two seasons, since leaving Honeycroft at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
