The Red's game at Hayes & Yeading United on Saturday was postponed with just over an hour to go before the scheduled kick-off, due to a waterlogged pitch. Our last outing was the previous weekend when we defeated Moneyfields 2-1. Sutton Common Rovers were in action on Friday night, and suffered their sixth defeat in seven, losing 1-3 at home to Binfield.
The Commoners have recently seen a change at the top with club stalwart, Darren Salmon, and former player manager Lee Flavin, jointly taking over the managerial reigns. They will be hoping to turn round the teams' fortunes which sees them bottom of the current form table. Uxbridge are twelfth with a record of two wins, two draws and two defeats in our last six games.
This is a rearranged game, following the postponement in early January due to unsafe conditions at the Colston Avenue ground, and will be our first meeting of the season. We completed the double last season, winning 2-1 away with goals from Bernard Mensah and Alex Witham. While two goals from Ezra Ndukuba and strikes from Wilson Chingokaand Witham resulted in a 4-0 home win. This will be the seventh meeting between the Reds and the Commoners and Uxbridge have yet to taste defeat, winning five and drawing one of the previous encounters.
Dan Pepple is the one to watch, scoring seven goals in sixteen league appearances, six of these coming in the last five games. A win would see Uxbridge cement their place in the play-off places and close the gap on third placed Ascot United, while a victory for Sutton Common Rovers would see them climb out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
